I am hoping to start some karate classes soon and want to keep my hair out of my face during class. My hair is shoulder length with some side bangs which I often tuck behind my ears.

I am looking for some ideas for what to do. When I wear my hair in a ponytail, I often need to keep re-doing it during the day, so I don't know if it will stay or not.

Would braided pigtails work? Or are they likely to fly in my face too?

Thanks

Jessica

Hey,
I currently do karate and have shoulder length hair.
The best way i have found is either a single or pigtail braid, also pinning any loose hair with bobby pins or back-combs.
If your hair is only shoulder length then it is unlikely the braids will hit you in the face, it has never happened to me.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Bronz. I guess I won't be doing Karate after all. My mom has decided that its "too rough" for girls <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> That's another story but I feel so trapped right now.

Hey Jessica
That really sucks.
It is a bit rough but then at least
if you get attacked on the street its
possible to survive.
Maybe you mom will let you do karate
at a later date so there is no reason to
feel so trapped.
if you want some easy karate move, i can help
as i do teach it as well as train.
Bronz
