Usually I'll buy games that I see on tv or in the store, I have gotten a little out of the habit of buying them though. We were always playing games when I was in college living in the dorms and it was soo much fun--Cranium was the favorite.
Most of the games I've ever bought were games I first played either at school or someone's house. I so rarely buy games now, though. I just don't get around to playing the ones I have already. Most of them need more than two people to make them worthwhile, and it's just my hubby and I at the moment.
Hey! There's a topic for you: games suitable for only two players.
We are just the two of us also, so I have to frequently recruit people to test out new games. I also have to borrow people's children, which they don't seem to mind!!
I buy over 50 games/year, and get almost all of my information for www.boardgamegeek.com. Excellent resource for games, and I guarantee you'll find 1,000's of games you never knew existed! Just browse through the top rated games, and you'll find tons of good ones.
