I received your e-mail and it is on my other machine so I am using this machine to answer you. Yesterday, the 29th we had an overcast sky so the viewing of Mars was washed out for that night. We have had overcast skies for about nearly the past two weeks in the Tidewater area. Tonight was coll and crisp but the skies were clear. I did catch a good view of Mars but did not catch the storm up there. I also read an article about two tornadic activities that were occuring but did not catch those either. I had my scope set up on the front lawn and there was a bit of light pollution but not enough to thwart some good viewing. I did have two of my grandsons over and let them look at stars in a seeminly empty part of the sky. The idea was to show them that there was more to life than looking at cartoons on the telly. We didnt't look at anything in particular and that was not the goal; the goal was to whet their appitite and engage their curiosity, I think i may have succeeded. My two grandson are still too young to understand what is going on up there but there is no time like the present to start. BTW did you have your scope out or was it overcast in England?
