I don't have any kids due to infertility and did try to have "one" (and only one) via IVF but having said that I am not a big kiddie person. I think I would of liked my own child I am just not that fond of anyone elses kids, I do like my sisters girl very much though (she is probably the only child I really do like) and we are close but I am still always happy when she goes home at the end of the day if she has been with me all day. Babies absolutely terrify me too!!!! I must say even though it was heartbreaking to find out I couldn't have a child intially I am very happy living childfree, I love the peace and quiet, I love all the free (me) time I have etc. Having a child isn't everything and I certainly don't feel like less of a woman or less of an important memeber of society because I don't have one either.

I can't stand any kids under 4. The older kids get the more I like them. but worse than kids is what they do to your life style-ruin it. I guess that's why I'm child free

I generally like small children. I admit that pre teens and teens don't appeal much for the most part. Some are really great but I am generally more comfortable around young kids.

In general, I don't like kids. Anyone under the age of 16 is a pain in my [censored]. I have 2 nephews whom I absolutely adore and I do like a few select kids that belong to close friends of mine. I've been an animal lover my whole life and much prefer the company of them over any kid, any day.

I have a couple of friends that found out they are infertile and have come to the realization that they were done a huge favor. I have friends who regret having kids. Most people I know when asked if they'd do parenthood over again say NO. Then there are the few who lie..... LOL My cousin is currently undergoing all kinds of fertility treatments and is getting very bitter over the whole thing. I am hoping she comes to the realization that she is better off.

I like kids on the whole. I think they're cute, and of course, society would be in a bit of trouble without them. Also, I do appreciate certain attributes that can really only be found in children--honesty, innocence, being kind of awestruck with the world around them. Those are qualities that it's a shame that people have to lose. I also wonder if my reluctance to have children (I really haven't made up my mind about the subject)isn't due, in part, to the way children seem to consume the lives of their parents. I'm sure there are exceptions to this (so please no hate mail!) but it does seem like all of a sudden the T.V. is ruled by Spongebob and Cookie Monster and you trade in that sweet ride for a minivan with Big Bird static stickers. Plus, I'm not sure if there is any more horrifying sound this side of hell than a baby crying.

I absolutley love kids....OTHER people kids!!
I love my neices and nephews, but I have about the same attention span as they do (they are all under 6) and so I can only handle them for a little while.
