People who sin say this: "They did it because they had to"

if a pretty butterfly was caught on a rare spider's web and the spider was approaching the butterfly, would you save the butterfly? why?

Hello I,

I'd save the butterfly. The spider could always spin another web.

But then the spider will starve, it'll have nothing to eat

The spider can spin another web to catch another insect. Unless, of course, the butterfly is the last insect on the planet!

I wouldn't save the butterfly. The spider needs to eat and that's just part of The chain of life.

Well, I don't believe in "sin" for one, so I'd save the butterfly, because I "had to", meaning I was there for a reason. I'd also save my child for the same reasons. I'm not "sinning" if I "interfere" with nature's process, if I saw the butterfly, then there was a reason for that. However, I don't run around trying to NOT step on ants, as I don't see them. I merely do what's in front of me, and make the choices I make based on what I believe is right *at that moment*. If I weren't there when the butterfly gets caught, then it wasn't meant for me to save, and that's what I "have to do" at that moment as well.

The scenario I of Solitude gave was "which one would you save?"

Had he merely said "What would you do if you came upon the scene?", I may have answered differently.

Maybe I should have made a poll? ah well

meaning I was there for a reason.

what if the reason was for you to see the spider catch a butterfly?

If I did say 'what would you do if you came upon the scene' how would it have changed your answer, Jannet?

I quite like LR's answer, that it's just a part of the chain of life

after all...who are we to end another's life?

I'd save the butterfly. If I was caught in a jam I'd like someone else to help me.
