Prize:

A decorative birdhouse that resembles a lighthouse. The trivia contest winner will email me his/her address and the prize will be shipped out via USPS within 14 days of the end of the contest. The postage will be paid by me, your illustrious host. Please don't post your address in the forum.

Rules:

The first one to answer five trivia questions correctly will win the birdhouse. I will only accept unedited replies for answers. This contest is open to anyone living in the US with the exception of RI, NY, and FL. Unfortunately, if you live in Rhode Island, New York, or Florida you are not eligible to win since I'd have to register the contest with that state. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Here is today's trivia question:

Where was the first circus in the United States hosted?

The first
circus in the United States was in Newport in 1774.

I just saw this and went to find the answer and when I got back ... I see Kitty was here. I was wondering where she was. All the while I was thinking ... perhaps for once I can post the answer before her...

I couldn't resist but to answer<G>

My answer, however, is different from Chris' (and I checked it with the Circus World Museum site) - John Bill Ricketts presented the first circus in America in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 3, 1793.

I'm going to take Chris's answer here. I got the answer (well, question) from a Rhode Island site. All the questions have something to do with New England <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Here's the score:

Chris 1

BTW, Kitty, I'm glad you are enjoying the game I sent you <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Gotta work on getting more people to participate in this game...

Since no-one else has stepped up to the plate... I'm going to answer the Dandilion canning question.
