Nobody has to diet or be stick thin but staying at a healthy weight by exercising and eating healthy prevents many unnecessary diseases and illnesses including diabetes, hypertension, depression, anxiety, low back pain, prevents osteoporosis, reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer, etc. In addition staying fit and eating right improves your quality of life in many ways ie. boosts self esteem, releives stress, improves posture, promotes quality sleep, increases energy, helps people quit smoking, makes you look and feel younger, etc.
Not everyone is trying to lose weight to look good but there's nothing wrong with those who want to lose weight just for that reason. Maybe they hold themselves to higher standards and that's o.k. too. What brings you to this forum?
