I just wanted to start this to get insider opinion about blitzball I personally haven't played one game past the the one in luca you had to. I know its an area I need to get better at because I want Wakkas Attack reels. Any suggestions or help from seasoned blitzball vets would be appreciated. Thank you for contributing JohnnyDangerous

yeah its a bit of a ***** (is that a swear word?! ) when u start coz ur team is [censored] n low levelled, but once u get goin n u get practise n maybe a new team it gets soooo easy!

i actually kept all of the original team n i never lost a game! (ok so i lost 2, but near enough nothing!!) best tip is to get Tidus' Jecht Shot on the boat - thats a huge help n will leave the opposition standing (or floating...) while u score goal after goal if u get it right

take the time to chk out the stats shown up when u meet sum1 in the field, coz it does all work properly n there are strategies u basically have to compare ur stats with the opponents so u can make the best move.

get ur key techniques and also build up ur technique inventory to get even harder, but u might not even need to do this pass the ball often to all players so they all get exp points to level them up and make sure u keep the techs they got up to date

If you only want to play Blitzball to get Wakka's ODs i would suggest waiting until you have the airship after the Yunalesca battle and have free movement. It is easier to get recruits at this point than trying to remember to pick them up on your way through. Also getting the Jecht shot will make winning a lot easier.

You can get all of the ODs and the sigil for Wakka with out worrying too much, if at all, about key techniques. If you want to play the game for enjoyment (I dont enjoy the game much at all, but I have a friend who does so I suppose this is possible) you will want to work on your key techs to stay competitive.

Getting a better team, while not Necessary, will also make winning easier. I've won every game I've played with rather easily with the team:
Forwards - Tidus and Wakka Mid Field - Nadia
Defenders - Brother and Tatts Goal - Kyou
This is surely not the best team that can be put together but works well enough to get Wakka's ODs and sigil

The strategy I like to use usually gives the final score of 2 - 0. Once I get the ball I just play a nice game of keep away. Pass the ball around only to people who are open. Getting in 0 encounter keeps the other team from ever getting the ball. Once the clock gets to about 1:00 pass the ball to Tidus and go for the goal and shoot with peferably 2 or less defenders. If this is the case a jecht shot should be a sure goal.
passing for almost the whole time accomplishes two things: If the other team doesn't have the ball they can't score, and passing will build experience.
After a while when I feel that I don't need any more exp. I just sit in a corner with the ball unless someone comes after me. (behind your goalie works well)

This strategy is good if you just want to get the game over with. It probably wouldn't be very enjoyable if you like the game.

like they have been saying about kew technique they are nbot really needed at all what the game gives is stil good enough ..you can go differn't but if you go with "darkmatter" option on staying with the team..them maybe ya it could help..but getting some recruites should be good enough..personly i played so many games..and i barly tech copied anyone...only lost 2 games..there is a Jecht Shot 2 but it consumes..to much>..(what was it mp i forgot) ill just say mp to exacuite the move..but it is ok when your tidus is complety surrounded by the team(if you stratagized enough this won't happen( also it only takes out two but tiduses endurence goes high so taking a attack is np) just take some time to play it...it gets really fun beating the guys 8 to none

I had the same problem when i first started playing blitzball. i seriously thought i was horrible and had no real idea about recruiting when you play the luca goers for the first time. so obviusly i lost that game! i thought they were seriously cheating or something lol because sometimes both players would tackle me when i broke only to one person, but then i learned why that was happening, and now like they are saying its easy as heck. i dont even have jechts shot ( i dont think) unless its sphere shot ( which is a way cool thing for tidus to have) i dont even have wakka, when i checked his stats compared to who i do have, he sucked. i have koyou, linna, svounda, miyu and everyone else is original. i got rid of keepa and botta because they suck. good luck with blitzball and dont worry to much about techniques because if you recruit people after level 3, they have all of them learned. i have only had like 5 succesful tech copies in my whole "blitzball career" and i have won all but two games ( 1 loss, 1 tie).

good luck hope this helps!

Best bit of advice is keep playing. I named in another question the best team i have come across and so far i havn't lost and with an average of six goals per match. So just keep playing and eventually you will become better and learn some techniques especially wither tackle, very handy against the Al Bhed Psyches.
Not Much But hope it motivates you.
