Oh, man...does that mean I should have gone into the 100 level labrynth during chapter 3?
I'm beginning to think no one can actually play this game without checking every nook and cranny after EVERY accomplishment (ie. getting a conversation, getting a grid, talking to some guy sixteen times but not that one time that allows you to get whatever it was from the guy in kilika holding the telescope...no, I'm not bitter, um, maybe I should stop ranting now, naw, I'm so ticked....deep breath, reload 50 hours earlier...better now...)
SO...Better question. Looks like I've missed several prime things including, possibly, a crimson sphere. Should I reload or put another 15 hours into the game before I even know if I can beat the game. Can anyone say poll?

It is not to late to go back after the ribbon or the dark knight dress-sphere. If your past Ch.3 then yes it is too late to get the Crimson Sphere 1, most only show up once.
You will need to lower the lift again.
With New Game Plus you'll be able to keep any items, garment grids, & dress-spheres that you already have. Even with a guide it's nearly impossible to get 100% in one game, so should you go back, NO, in your new game choose the other side when you decide who to give the sphere to in Ch.2.

If you find all 10 Crimson Spheres you'll be able to enter the Den of the Woe and get more completion points, (be warned - you must be able to withstand 5,000 hit to all 3 girls at once.)
Also this is the best way to learn about Paine, ('cuz she's sure not going to tell you.)
Anwayz, to locations, Most of the Crimson Spheres you only get ONE chance to get the entire game.
I'll list them in game order.
Ch.1, After (or during-whichever you prefer) the foggy fiend mission on Mushroom Rock Road, return and follow the path down to the Den of the Woe, you will automatically pick up Crimson Sphere 9, which shows as Crimson Report 1 on Shinra's list.
Ch.2 Again, return to the Den of Woe, you will be given Crimson Sphere 7 Ch.2 Crimson Sphere 10 is in Logo's room, (part of the story I believe, if not the room has purple doors, and it shows as Crimson Report 2 on Shinra's list.)
Ch.3 Go to Guadosalam speak with a few people, when finished go to the "circle " bedroom. You'll find it hidden up top. Crimson Sphere 4, (I believe that this is the only one that you more that one shot to get.
Ch.3, When Djose is a hotspot, GO TO BEVELLE, follow who you see underground, (you'll need to lower the lift again) and then after scenes, you'll need to pick up the sphere on the floor. Crimson Sphere 1 At the End of Ch. 3 Crimson Sphere 2 & 3 are given to you.
Ch. 4 after the concert go to the engine room and LeBlanc will give you Crimson Sphere 5. You will be told she is there if you didnt skip the scenes.
In Ch. 5 Crimson Sphere 6 is in Bevelle on Floor 1. Crimson Sphere 8 is on Floor 20.I do not recommend going past here for now, you can make it to 40 with no probs, but until your much, much stronger you won't stand a chance any further. And you Can exit the dungeon, but you'll have to start over on your current floor. And avoid red dragons, by waiting on them to go back into the wall, or by stepping over them.

You should not even be able to access the Bevelle Dungeon floors until Ch.5. And it's one of those places that at floor 40 and above, you'd better be at really good levels.
As far as the telescope thing, If you view it in all available chapters, 1,3,&5 you'll be asked if you want to go over there in Ch.5. You can get an invincible accessory that has break damage limit. In this game this isn't really worth that much. To even get that much strength, you'll need the Iron Duke, which requires taking on Trema, even with strength at 255 your only looking at hits of 12,000.
What you can get of value (from the telescope area) are coins that have Quota X4. Go over to the moving yellow X and they'll want you to away by giving you coins. This is the only way I have ever been able to defeat Shinra during Sphere Break and won the Lady Luck Dress-sphere.

Ok, back to the Ribbon question, the platforms are very tricky to actually get into place, unfortunatley I cannot give you any real advice on getting them in place. You already know that you have to get them all the way to the bottom, you will also encounter a lot of boss fights while doing this. If your still in Ch.2 and are trying to do this, you may find it interesting that you can climb back up the chain to heal and save. If you wait till later the bosses are really easy. (I can't remember which one, but if you oversoul it (one of the two bosses), you can steal an auto-regen accessory from it, the other wasn't worth that much.)

Hehe, that's how much trouble I had trying to get those platforms into place, I oversouled both of bosses! And it was still during Ch.2 <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
