There are 4 monuments that each have a number on them. Once you have the four numbers, talk to the townspeople to determine the order of just play around with the combinations at the door. Either way, once you know the 4 numbers, it's pretty easy to figure out.

Did you find the four monuments yet?

If you already found the 4 #'s, sounds like you did, by the way I think mine were 5846 or close to that, Then you need to find the cave. Past the waterfall your location should say Besaid Crossroads on the menu screen - you should see a little red thingy, walk down past this and find red steps, This is the cave. You'll be asked to input your #'s and then you'll be able to enter the cave.

I had a hard time with this too. Other people can help besides just Gerbill <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> , Although you have to learn patience and you may have already found the cave by now.

I also recommend using this little area to level up, you'll need it. I came back here after I got my white mage dress sphere, (The only thing is I don't remember where I got it from) and leveled up one white mage.

My numbers were 6028, might not have been in that order. It sounds like the FF crew finally stopped hardcoding these things in the game so you'll have to figure it out.

There are 4 places that tell you the numbers. One place is in the ruins area. Jump onto the first rock/fallen pole to the right and click x. That will give you one of the numbers.

The second number is right outside Besaid Village. Just exit out of the village and examine the monument (near where the team prayed in FFX)

The third and fourth numbers are at the beach.

For one of them, right when you enter, jump onto the rocks to the left (there will be some kids playing around there) It's the sparkly thingy.

Next, jump off and run accross to beach to the other side, where the ship and other junk are. Then jump onto the grassy area/rock and you'll have the last number.

Then go to the cave and it will tell you the order you must put in.

Good luck

Have you been living on some distant planet? It's out in NA. Anyways, the ciphers are always different in the game (mostly, obviously they have to be repeated at some point) but you only need three of them. Than, by the process of elimination, you can open up the cave. I'm not sure if talking to more people orders your found numbers for you.
