Does anyone know anything about it? Cause I'm from Hawaii and Wakka's accent really really sounds like a pidgen (a local accent/dialect. It's even considered a second language at my college) accent to me.

He even says "yeah" a lot, like ppl say in Hawaii. And during a battle once he said something about "My fastball gone broke da mouth" In pidgen, "broke da mouth" is a totally common phrase meaning something tastes really good. Maybe they misunderstood the usage of pidgen terms? Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding this whole thing. But the resemblance is more than uncanny.

Did they make Final Fantasy X in Hawaii? Because Squaresoft made the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within movie in Hawaii. Anyway, Hawaii and Japan have this whole relationship so it might've been worked on in both Japan and Hawaii. Who knows. Just wondering. Plus Besaid reminds me of Hawaii.

Wakka is my favorite voiced character. One, because his voice was perfect, two because I love John Dimaggio. I want to marry him.

Can't find any email address or anything. Plus I doubt he'd answer a trivial question like this.

Is anyone else from Hawaii here? Cause they'd understand the striking similarity. But i guess I'm the only one here from my lonely lonely tiny little island in the middle of the ocean.

i'm sorry to be really stupid here, but what similarities or differences are there in his appearance to Hawaiian people? i don't mean the Blitz outfit-i mean his looks

i couldn't really place his accent and i thought it sounded, if anything, West Indian or sumthin but now u come to mention it, i can hear how he does sound Hawaiian.

When I heard his accent, I thought it sounded Hawaiian because of the Lilo and Stitch movie but I'm not Hawaiian or from Hawaii so I can't really say that I know. I DID think that it souded Hawaiian though.

There are a lot of things that make Wakka look like he's from Hawaii. Well, he's asian looking, and 80%-90%(though probably more) of Hawaii is made up of asians who do look kinda like Wakka. In fact I know of at least three guys who really really look a lot like Wakka.

It's hard to explain. The Asians you're thinking of probably are really white, really slanty eyed dorky looking thin FOBs. Hawaii asians are completely different. I guess like Lilo and Stitch, they look asian, but are definitely darker and look more "local."

Wakka has a pretty nice tan going on, and he also has dyed hair which is common here. In fact it seems like it's a necessity for every asian guy in hawaii to dye their hair.

Wakka seems to look like the kind of guy local asian guys here try to look like. Not the spikey tall hair though. Even if they wanted that hair I doubt anyone could duplicate it. I mean, his body type(buff)and kinda rough looks. The clothes maybe are similar. Local guys like to wear lots of tank tops and board shorts, which if you interpret Wakka's clothes, are somewhat similar. But maybe that's stretching it.

It's still hard to explain. All I can say is that if you came to Hawaii, you'd see that the bulk of local guys here do have striking resemblances to Wakka. It does seem to me they modeled Wakka from local sources in Hawaii.
