I already answered this question for you in the "Test me on FFX" thread but I'll answer again.
Durren is available only ONCE, the first time you head down towards the cavern of the stolen fayth and you see all those ppl walking around that area. Durren is standing along the cliff edge, just press square to check him out. If you go back to this area later in the game, you'll find the area completely empty.
But I don't think Durren's that hot, so I dunno. Maybe his stats are high at level 99? I dunno. but if it was me, I'd just try and get Nimrook(the best goalie)playing for the Al Bhed Psyches. Just press square and see how many more games he's playing in his contract, then keep playing exhibition games against the Al bhed psyches, and as soon as you have the ball press forfeit, so you can end it and go back and play another exhibition game. Keep doing this till he has just one game left on his contract. At this point save. Then, after you forfeit the game, his contract will expire, and he might become a free agent. if the al bhed or other team re-sign him, just reset the game and try again till they release him as a free agent. Maybe you already knew this but thought it might help.
