Writer-Director (and former actress) Justine Bateman is at the helm of a movement to stop the theft of filmmakers' work by AI. She's part of a group called CREDO 23 that pledges to hold filmmaking sacred and to preserve it as an art form. The goal of their movement is to keep AI from stealing the work of human artists. To that end, CREDO 23 is sponsoring a film festival that will only accept non-AI works. Submissions are open from now until October 31st. The fest is scheduled for March 28-30th in Hollywood.

Justine Bateman is a vocal critic of AI and also a great source of information on the way AI impacts the film industry. I follow her on social media to stay up-to-date. I think she is probably fighting a losing battle but I support her efforts. She is an expert at pinpointing the hypocrisy and greed of the tech bros and executives who are hyping AI.
