The official trailer for the documentary "Sugarcane" is up on YouTube. The doc is produced by National Geographic and will get a theatrical release next month. "Sugarcane" is co-directed by Emily Kassie and Julian Brave Noisecat. Julian's father is a product of the residential school system that forcefully removed Indigenous children from their families and placed them in religious boarding schools. Noisecat's father, Ed Archie Noisecat, has a horrifying story to tell concerning the fate of babies who were the product of girls raped by priests. A process of healing, though, seems to be the film's aim. Here's a link to the trailer.
