These go hand in hand for sure. AI is new so you sign up for classes on how to use it. Using Excel in Genealogy-what's that all about?

There are several sites which provide free ongoing education opportunities in genealogy and just because they seem regional doesn't mean they are regional. They cover all sorts of topics of interest for genealogist. Genealogy changes daily.

I took in a great zoom meeting today - IGG - Italian Genealogy Group. The talk was on finding images of your family members who immigrated to the US. He used NARA (National Archives for one - naturalization records, alien files. I use NARA in research but he opened up some additional avenues. It is amazing what is out there including sites like "Dead Fred".

Curiosity and Learning served me well today. A couple came into the library today and asked for assistance in signing into one of the genealogy sites namely FamilySearch.org. I was able to help and then guide them in using the site. The gentleman said he could see himself now glued to the site now that he knew how to use the site.

We have a genealogy round table Saturday and I'm trying to get my thoughts together to discussion topics. We have had two requests about DNA - one person asked about the early settlers of the county (1611) and another wanted to know if we had a DNA group. She plans to attend. I'm not quite sure if she was looking for a discussion group. DNA and I are on different planets, I know a little but not enough. Another member of our round table group likes to talk about DNA and he said he would be there at our meeting. I plan to pick their brains and see what we can do. Forensic genealogy is a big thing right now and some like to use DNA to trace their line rather than do the paper chase. Everyday brings something new.

We held the roundtable. I don't know if we settled much.
