Hello Everybody,

Here is something new for you to consider - an Ornamental Avocado Containers! Yep! It's possible!

Now, we are talking about growing an Avo tree in a container for ornamental purposes and not because you want to grow a tree that will bear fruit in umpteen years time. I am going to try a container and follow my own advice, and I’ll let you know how I get on. My garden patch is small so I shall only grow one and hope it doesn’t get lonely! Novelty plant, here I come!

Hiya Everyone,

I am feeling brave so I am growing my Avocado tree from a pit that I am allowing to root (with toothpicks and all like we did as kids) on my sunny windowsill. I will let you know how I get on. Mr Pit is still just a pit so let's see how long he takes to become something more.

What do you think of the idea of an Avo tree in a container? Too much waiting? No use for such a plant in a pot? Have no space? Not interested?

Please say hello and at the same time tell me what you would be interested in reading about ... I would also be pleased to hear what you are up to in your gardens. Thanks.

Cheers for the nonce

Hiya all,

Well it's been a week or so and my avo pit is in the sun, toothpicked and watered, and here I am waiting for something to happen. Nowt yet!

I read that I must wait 10 days to 2 weeks for signs, so here I am waiting, I just thought I would check in.

Is anyone else going to try this? Let us know please.

Cheers now

No more plants at this point. My garden was toast this year and I don't want to nurse-maid much in the house. LOL

Hi All,

Well my avo pit didn't pit so I am going to start again with another one and see if it will be second time lucky.

I am determined to grow an avocado tree in a container, so, determined is as determined does!

Will let you know!

Cheers
