A new 4K restoration of "Thousand Pieces of Gold" (1990) will begin streaming on Friday, April 24th, courtesy of Kino Lorber. The film is set in the American West, circa 1880, and tells the story of an Asian woman who fights for her freedom after being sold into marriage slavery. Anne Makepeace adapted the screenplay from Ruthanne Lum McLunn's novel. "Thousand Pieces of Gold" is directed by Nancy Kelly and stars Rosalind Chao and Chris Cooper. Here's a link to the trailer.
