Will you be able to see the first lunar eclipse of 2019? It begins Sunday night or Monday morning, depending on your time zone. You can check it out here for your locality.

Great info. Mona thank you, and what a super link you posted. It automatically worked out where I am and gave all the relevant details, so will be there at 6 am.

We should be able to see the total lunar eclipse here...that is if the cloud stays away this time laugh. Fingers crossed.

I'm glad that was helpful, Francine. If only, we could influence the weather!

Imagine the horror: Something is eating the Moon, leaving its face covered in blood. This was how people once viewed lunar eclipses. Find out what actually causes a lunar eclipse, why the Moon may turn red during an eclipse, and where a lunar eclipse becomes a solar eclipse.

A tetrad of Blood Moons sounds very dramatic. It could even be the title of a fantasy novel. But what is a "Blood Moon"? What is a lunar tetrad? And is it as apocalyptic as it sounds? Let's have a look.

Sometimes the media are full of stories about a supermoon. They may even include dire predictions of earthquakes, tsunamis and other disasters. What is a supermoon and should you be worried - or excited?

Well I was there at 6 am, but so was the cloud...yet again. Beginning to think I will never see anything from here laugh Waited and waited but no, in fact the cloud is still there and it is -4 degrees, so 28 degrees Fahrenheit, and we expect the same temperature but with cloudless skies from about 10 am onward. Just a bit late for Super Moon watching...the weather Gods are hopeless at timing. frown

Loved the article Mona, explained everything so well even I could understand it... blush

I didn't see it either. I woke up and looked outside, but - not surprisingly - it was total cloud cover. Just like the July lunar eclipse.
