The trailer for "At Eternity's Gate" was released today. Directed by Julian Schnabel, the film stars Willem Dafoe as painter Vincent Van Gogh. Mads Mikkelsen and Oscar Isaac co-star. Schnabel, himself a painter, takes a psychological approach to his subject. "At Eternity's Gate" premiered at the Venice Film Festival and will be the closing night film at the New York Film Festival Oct. 12th. The US release date is November 16th.

Sounds like a worthwhile flick - I love Van Gogh's work! I live in North Holland and have been to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam several times - it's the go to place to point out to visitors.

How fortunate that you live so close to Amsterdam! Just an update on the film. Willem Dafoe won the Best Actor Prize at the Venice Film Festival this weekend for playing Van Gogh in "At Eternity's Gate".
