It's Autumn. A time when I often find that my stress level can begin to rise just because of the upcoming holiday season, I jump ahead in my mind to things I need to finish for the year, and the things I need to do for next year. This year, I am taking it one month at a time. I have a general plan, I am just not going to get caught up in what I have to do next month, until I am done with what I am doing this month. I have a habit of jumping ahead on my To Do Lists! Wish me luck.

I'm working on a free ebook to cover all of this process from start to finish. So the first step in all of this is to ground yourself for those ten minutes. However you choose to do it, finding a calm(er) starting point is a key!

I like to go for short walks when the weather is nice. When the weather is less nice, I sit and watch a meditative video. It keeps my attention focused for those ten minutes and the time drifts right by.

Once you have invested those ten minutes, it's time to work on the vision statement!

The book should now be free and live on all platforms. For example here is the Amazon version:

If you have any issues downloading it for free, let me know!

I am renewing my commitment in 2018 to find a calm center from which to take action. I meditate each evening and it helps immensely. I need to retain that desire for a calm center during the rest of the day, though.

How are you guys doing with your calm center?

Heading into summer is a great time to renew your commitment to reducing stress. Stress releases dangerous chemicals into your body which harm you. The more you can release stress in a healthy manner, the healthier you become - literally. Your body is no longer awash in dangerous chemicals.

Do you meditate? Do yoga? Journal? How do you handle your stress?

I've been under a lot of stress this past year. We're reorganizing as my mother in law now lives with us and requires care. I do journal and I began a blog to write about family. I am reading more too.

Journaling is incredibly useful for helping us to review what is happening and to look at it without judgment. These are simply things going on in our lives. We can choose to do the best we can with each moment we have, and then another moment comes. The moments are precious.

I highly recommend journaling.

I'm refreshing my vision statement, long term goals, and short term goals again. I try to do it every six months. To begin, I always find a moment of calm and quiet. It's a great practice to engage in before you start any new project! Do you find that to help in your own efforts?

It's really the key to find at least a few minutes a day to cool down and recover. These days it's hards to take a break and relax without rushing anywhere, but it's important for our mental health and emotional well-being.
