Felicity - I'm a hard of hearing high school teacher. I work with 9th graders who don't understand that background noise (side conversations) make it almost impossible for me to understand what's being said to me. Do you have any ideas for how to educate teenagers on the needs of hard of hearing or Deaf people?
Another question: do you think that lipreading or sign language can be used instead of hearing aids? I had a bad experience with the last hearing aid I tried and would like to know my options. (The world is too noisy with an aid; I like the silence but not the isolation of being hard of hearing!)
