Hi, long time reader of these forums, first time poster.

I have a question about children and weightlifting. My 15 yo daughter started lifting weights for track and field a couple of years ago, and over the past year she's been lifting about 6 days a week for about 2-3 hours a day. She lifts with my wife, which I think is great, but I think it may be a little too much.

So how much lifting is OK for a teen girl? She's 5'10" and hasn't stopped growing, so I'm not worried about it stunting her growth. I just don't think she needs to get any stronger I guess. Her mom recently went away for her annual sales meeting and my daughter asked if I wanted to lift with her. I was stunned by how strong she was; at least twice as strong as me on the bench press and other excercises, which was really embarrassing and emasculating, but I am only 5'5" 130 :-)

Any thoughts on this? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brandon
