I enjoyed your article. The most interesting thing about these laws is not that they're still on the books, but why on Earth they were put on the books in the first place.

I loved your article. I was laughing out loud as I was reading. What a crazy collection of don'ts!

I did wonder why some of those bizarre laws were necessary. Here's an explanation for one of them: Frankfort used to have an ordinance that said you could not carry an ice cream cone in your back pocket. Though it seems strange, the ordinance served an important purpose. It was intended to prevent a horse thief from luring away a horse. You will also find that many wacky law books mention a woman cannot walk down a highway in a swimsuit without carrying a club. This was actually a Kentucky state law. The law was gender-neutral, and required the person in the swimsuit to either have a club or a police escort. It was repealed during the 1974 update to the penal code.

Yes, all of these strange laws were created for a reason and most of the laws that I research, do have an explanation as to why they were passed, but others do not. So I chose just to write the laws, without their reasoning, just for a little comic relief to break up a stressful day.
In a future article, I will write about some of the strange laws and the reasons they were written.
I should do this every so often so my readers can understand why some of the laws were passed.
