I hate to see a section like this so dormant! I'm not a US citizen, but as a foreigner I nevertheless have an interest in who gets to be President next year. Donald Trump might or might not be good for the USA, but he would certainly be good for the rest of the world. Everybody else in the race - except Bernie Sanders - belongs to the military-industrial complex's War Party, keen to bomb as many civilians in the Middle East as they can - and to shoot them, too, if that could be done without risking US lives.

So. Go Donald! Mind you, I don't think he would ever be elected, because he would be taken out by some sponsored "Lone Assassin", like JFK was. But he's the only hope for the outside world, I'm afraid.

I was about to agree until I realised you weren't talking about Donald Duck, but rather Donald Trump. Thanks for an entertaining read! smile

All I can do is shake my head and sigh. This has been the strangest election cycle I have ever experienced.

GETTING RID OF THE DT'S

A bigot with a mouth like a spigot,

Making utterances befitting a fascist,

All his thoughts I just trash it much more than fastish.

Trump does have a big mouth, that's for sure; and he may indeed be a bigot. But the question is, is he as likely as his rivals to engage in the mass murder of defenceless little brown people in the Middle East? All the rivals - except maybe Bernie - are proud imperialists, and as such quite prepared to kill all who oppose the expansion of the Empire into their homelands.

I once saw (online) a Bumper Sticker that said - in block caps - WHY CAN'T EXXON SEND ITS OWN DAMN TROOPS? Not that I think they should: that would be just as immoral as outside governments sending troops. But at least Exxon troops who engaged in mass slaughter would not be compromising the principles that most Americans say they aspire to. If I were an American, I would be mortified by the war-crimes committed in my name. I wouldn't find it entertaining, at all!

A POLITICAL FUROR

I’ll banish each and every illegal!

I’ll for our enemies make all forms of torture legal!

I’ll dictate who we shall hate!

I’ll once again make America great!

I’ll lead you true believers as you lock-step march single file!

I’ll be “TERRIFIC” as you are all inclined to shout sieg heil!

Bush and Obama made torture routine, and slaughtered hundreds of thousands of civilians without the slightest remorse. Obama was even cynical enough to wangle a Nobel Peace Prize on the basis of his promises to respect human rights. Trump could hardly do worse than those monsters. The bar has been set pretty low, by the West's political representatives.

Probably because some of us disapprove of the US slaughtering brown-skinned villagers in the Middle East and North Africa. Trump and Sanders seem to be the only candidates for President that agree with us.

[Idon't know how to use a UBB code - or indeed what it is. But there's a good online article called "Why Trump terrifies the Washington War Party" at David Stockman's Contra Corner dot com. Well worth reading.

HE WHO DELEGATES RESPONSIBILITY

With untold told lies and appealing to fears he does propagate

a deliberate misconception about what exactly is a delegate-

Yet for the savvy that does not result in any tears

Since his nonsensical verbiage is so self-servingly profligate,

So for him they do not shed an iota of a literal watergate.

CAN PIGS REALLY FLY

He is so sly;

He never hesitates to tell a lie.

He proclaims that in time he’ll metamorphasize,

thus becoming presidential,

Perhaps when the White House is his residential-

but you don’t have to be an elite intellectual

To realize that pigs can’t really fly.

THE PRIMARY NAME GAME

It seems that Hillary wouldn’t mind if Bernie was taken out on a gurney,

While Bernie would like to see for Wall Street Hillary pilloried

and Ted would desire for The Donald of Trumpland to be a million times thumped

Plus, of course, The Donald would agree it would be terrific if Ted’s state of life rhymed with dread.

IF THE SHOE FITS

A bully!

A demagogue!

A racist!

A fascist!

A carnival barker!

A egomaniac!

A liar!

A xenophobe!

A jingoist!

For all of the above Trumpian traits so could state Bernie Sanders

and never worry of being accused of slanders.

I Think I'm Lusion My Mind

Fearing the country’s cultural fusion
Trump and his lost legions welcomed Russian collusion
While obfuscating the truth as an illusion,
Resulting in so much partisan confusion-
Claiming their enemies were suffering from a massive delusion.
All of which has given my brain one huge contusion,
Making me wish that we all could live like an ethical Confucian.
Or at least that’s my oozing conclusion.
