Hi all you excellent Tarot readers out there! I am at a crossroads and I just can't seem to make a decision. I was born and raised in Connecticut, but I moved to Maine when I was 26 and lived there for almost 14 years.

Then, I went back to Connecticut to care for my mother until she passed away. Four of my six children were grown up and stayed in Maine, and the youngest two went with me. I was in Connecticut for almost 13 years and just recently, due to various factors, I moved back to Maine to live with my daughter and her family.

But now, after being here for a few months, the landlord who owns the house my daughter is renting has decided to sell the house and informed us.. all five of us... that we have to leave by mid May.

The kids are having a problem finding another house to live in, and I totally miss my family in Connecticut. I have a job that I don't particularly like here, and I have a job that I do like that I could go back to in Connecticut. I can stay with family there until I find a place to live.

But, I feel like I am deserting my family here if I move back to Connecticut before they find a place to live. I really only want to move once...

So.. if you wouldn't mind casting a few cards out there for me to help me know if I am making the right decisions... I would appreciate it immensely.

I just did a simple 3 card spread - past, present & future - for your situation, and this is what came up. (And I'm no kind of tarot expert, but this is what the cards suggest to me.)

Past: The Devil. This seems to me to signify the various circumstances you've gone through that have created the need for you to move home. I don't see any other interpretation - it's just the fact of what was.

Present: The Six of Cups. I think this is about your reflection on the time before any kind of chaos cropped up; your thoughts and feelings about the time and place when you were most content. It suggests to me that you know your feelings and what decision you want to make - it's just a question of how to square that decision with what you fear for your daughter's family.

Future: The Ace of Swords. I see this as the strength to make the right decision for you - cutting through all the doubts and complications.

I also did a 3 card spread for you daughter and her family.

Past: Two of Wands (reversed). Fear of the unknown; what is going to happen now? Understandable that this should arise in the circumstances.

Present: Two of Cups. I think this signifies the family staying united and strong in spite of present difficulties.

Future: The Tower. Sudden change and some disruption, which may be tough for a while, but which paves the way for better things to come.

I don't want to be presumptuous as I don't know anything about your situation except for what you posted, but I feel that you have your path to follow and your daughter's family have theirs, and that if you both gather your strength and set off on your individual journeys it will lead to greater good for all concerned.

Thank you so much Grace. It's really funny because when I did a spread for myself it was almost exactly the same. I knew what I was seeing, but it's hard to be objective when you are trying to read your own cards about this type of situation.

I should also know better than to second guess the Universe. I had pretty much made the decision to move back to Connecticut last night. And, as soon as that thought became clear in my mind, an old friend of mine texted me and wanted to know if I knew of anyone who wanted to rent a room in a three bedroom apartment. It's in the same town that my job will be. Then, my old boss facebooked me and asked me if I was coming back for the summer. LOLOLOL.

Now, my only hurdle is going to be tactfully letting my daughter know that I have made the decision.

You were totally right on with everything you said.. and it was great validation for what I already knew to be true in my heart.

Odd indeed how the Universe works - I'd decided to start working with the Tarot again, after several years of hardly looking at them - and the next day saw your post! Must be a good sign.

Grace... I think I finally put it all in perspective. When I look at it from everyone elses viewpoint it gets confusing, but when I look at it entirely from my viewpoint it is simple. I want to be in a small place of my own, near my youngest grandson, and working at a job I really love. Now, all I have to do is put the plan into action. Thanks again for your insights.
