As with all worldviews it's a bit more complex than at first glance.
Most Wiccans are taught "The lore of threefold return" in that whatever they do for good or ill returns to them three times as powerful as the original intent. Because of syntactic ambiguity many of them think this phrase reads as "The Law of threefold return" and is an unbreakable rule of cause and effect when the reality
is a lot more complex.
