This day in 1953 sweet rations ended in the UK. During the war and for some years after, only 12oz of sweeties or chocolate could be purchased.
When I read this I nearly fell off my chair, born at the end of the fifties, I have never experienced any type of rationing, except due to financial considerations. I wonder if there was a sweetie and chocolate ration today how fewer sweeties would affect the health of our teens?
Any suggestions?
