Does anyone know hummers? I have been hosting a female rufous hummer since late October. Today I saw a new hummer. He appears to be so dark that he looks black on his back with a rusty red gorget. Any ideas?

Where do you live?
Could be a male ruby throat if you are east of the rockies.
If you are west, could be one of many. I'm not to familiar with all the species in the far west.
