Hello there,

I was/am busy writing an article for later on patios so I stopped for this bit of fun...need to pronounce patio as payshio. Ta.

Horatio's Patio

There was a young gardener Horatio
Who spent lots of time on his patio
He’d weed and potter and plant and flower
And smiling with wine, he’d get happier by the hour.

Now our green Horatio was certainly no slouch
Even tho’on his patio he had a large couch
See he‘d work hard all day in a Company so fine
And come home to slouch-couch with a glass of white wine.

But the reason he loved most as it gave so much pleasure
Were the pot plants and creepers and veges of treasure
Oh! The scents and the colours and the thrill of it all
For Horatio it meant that his friends then might call.

Go well in your garden today...

Zesty Lestie is a blue-eyed organic Aztec Goddess. Who knew? Thanks Francine!

Hated or Loved Cilantro
Cilantro
You can grow and grow.
Why many people hate you so,
I will never know!
Perhaps if you were disguised as coriander,
People would view you fond-iander.
Or seen as a Chinese Parsley sprout,
At least they wouldn't spit you out.

Sweet Sweet Basil
Fragile sweet basil must never be abused.
So care for it tenderly, as it shouldn't be bruised.
Gastronomically create pesto-ed, salad-ed, sauced, pasta-d, souped or stewed.
Then it can be herbal-ly appreciated and, of course, chewed.
After all, it's only food!

Garlicked
Garlic is certainly a favorite,
In many ways I do so enjoy to savor it.
Gingered and stir-fried a la Asian,
I'd consume it on any occasion.
Olive-oiled, sauteed, and calamari-ed,
On it, I could feed and feed.
Foiled and roasted,
Cream-like, I'd eagerly spread it on bread.
Peeled and raw on a stick,
Un-a-peal-ing-ly, never would I'd venture to give it a lick.

Hello Everyone and Everybody and All,

I am back in the land of computers for the while so here we go with a bit of catch up and forum chat.

Oh Les - Ah Big Yaws? I loved the Boston Garden and had to read it several times - heaven knows what a Bostonian accent is like as far as I am concerned, but I had a lot of fun and smiles, thanks so much.

As for Garlic - she is one of my absolute favourites as well, what would we do without it in the kitchen or health stakes? I dunno.

Okay here is my Ogden offering for today, but also think we can put a spin on the 'game' if you wish.

How about the last person to write a 'pome' gets to nominate the subject of the next? Let's see what this does and what more we get? I hope for more verse anyway...

Chatterpots

I talk to my plants and in general they listen
And those that don't, well, they don't get my kissin'
Each works for its place in my garden so pretty
My latest? A container of grass for my kitty!

Next subject: Weather

Cheers now

Okay - so I will play again...Thanks Ogden Nash for your inspiration!

Whether Weather

Whether the weather is inclement or not
I can always find something to grow in a pot
See the choice 'tween the soil or the sun or the shade
Grows me plenty of veggies I am able to trade!

Next: Onions

Cheers now

Hi there,

I am having fun so I'll just carry on! Join in if you feel like it ... ta

Pie in the Sky?

The smell of frying onions can only make me hope
That for all the dinner requests I get; I tell myself I'll cope
See easy-growing onions are fine even tho' they make me cry
For sliced and diced is just the way for a beef and onion pie.

Next subject: Organic Mechanic

Cheers now
