Hi Bluedolphin, I hope this will be a good and productive week for you. What's the procedure for being able to private email members? I wanted to send you a few questions that don't quite fit in here. Have you publised many ebooks? If so, where did you sell them? I am getting pretty psyched up about picking up some of my writing projects which were set aside when my health was down. Did you get help here with writing an ebook? Do you get many visitors to this site? From all my adventures dealing with major health problems, my writing focus now is on what we can do for ourselves without drugs for the most part. My biggest difficulty in writing at this time is needing someone outside of myself to talk with while organizing my project, I cannot hold it all in my memory as in the past. What writing projects are you working on?

Hi there Zoe - phew that'a a lot of questions!

Let's see, just a brief comment on my health - I do a lot of surfing and reading and talking to people and am going to a specialist Endocrinologist soon to see what else I can learn about this sneaky condition. I am so sorry that there is not Editor here on BOL! I am improving all the time and at the moment I am taking the standard hormone replacement medication to activate my thyroid. I got such a fright last year when I went into hospital, that I am not yet in a position to forgo medication and follow just a natural path.

I started writing for Bellaonline early 2011 and yes indeed, I got a lot of help and encouragement from all sorts of people including other Editors. We all get varying numbers of visitors to our forums and sites and I know that there are many lurkers who read but do not want to post. I get a lot of emails with questions or opinions and these I answer accordingly.

As far as increasing traffic to your site I would suggest that you write interesting articles and run an active forum. A really fine site on Bellaonline (and there are many) is that run by Francine McKenna-Klein on German Culture. Her articles are regular, very interesting and varied and beautifully illustrated. Go there and you will see what I mean.

An Edtor should post a new article weekly as you will learn in training - and believe me, the training is thorough and extremely helpful.

My best advice that I would pass on to you right now is to be patient. All does fall into place, but as with life, you have to pay the dues or go to school or whatever the saying is - and now for the best platitude du'Jour ... Rome wasn't built in a day.

I think you will make a fine Editor Zoe, you are brave and curious and disciplined ... what subject have you applied for?

Cheers now

Hi Lestie, =========I hope you will continue to see progress and find your way to minimize or eliminate the medications. The web can be a great resource for finding information to help ourselves overcome various health problems. But it's a challenge to sort through all the information to find what is or is not valid and useful for ourselves. ============I'm encouraged by what you wrote of the support you found here. Do you have much difficulty producing an article per week? It's a good challenge. I applied here because even though I've been able to write and publish periodically for several years, I'm still having some difficulty that seems related to the aphasia from my strokes and or not being connected. My sense is the difficulty is much more about not feeling connected than anything else. That's because as soon as I start talking to others who write or are interested in the subjects I write about, my ability to focus and write begin to return. Bella may be the ideal situation to get the kind of support needed to develop my discipline to produce a weekly article, my goal anyway. ====For example, my job counselor through Vocational Rehabilitation is willing to do some networking to try and help me find work I can do from home, preferably writing, like a newsletter, articles, or booklets. Perhaps there are health oriented companies who will sponsor me to maintain a web site that has my articles and promotes their product. Now that my counselor is interested, it is much easier for me to begin writing out a plan or proposal that we will use in seeking work. I published over thirty articles at Suite 101. I removed them when the company was sold last year. =========There was not a category listed for it, but I requested to write in the area of health and nutrition, not thinking it feasible to write an article per week on just one topic. A lot of my published articles were on epilepsy, adhd, and gluten intolerance. My main objective is to write in the areas of health and nutrition with a focus on what individuals can do for themselves. ====I was diagnosed as being "hopelessly" paralyzed and having "incurable" seizures. I am no longer paralyzed, have not had a seizure since 1998. My experiences left me pretty radicalized about how our and others' beliefs affect our health and ability to overcome medical problems when they develop. There are people around who have cured themselves of lupus, Crohn's, multiple sclerosis, colitis, cancer, and numerous other disorders, like me overcoming paralysis from strokes and learning to stop my seizures. These type recoveries should be the norm, not the exception. I hope in my writing to direct readers to information they can use to learn how to bring about their own healing and recovery.

Hello Zoe,

Your requested subject sounds fascinating and will work well with the other subjects in this area on BOL, so good luck with your application.

It is not difficult to write an article a week - the 'challenge' if you want to call it one, is to be self-disciplined enough to write and post it.

Again I say be a little patient. Wait until you have graduated as a full Editor on Bellaonline and many of your questions will be answered - and by you with the information which becomes available to you each step of the way. There is a plethora of back-up material and constant encouragement from management which is also made available to you. It sounds like you have enough material for a long time ahead already in place that may just need a little work to adapt them for BOL, and that is a lucky thing. You may also be in a position to produce some ebooks to sell via your website which will support your endeavours too.

An article for BOL should be between 400 and 1200 words and informative and not a blog. Is there work you can start on? Draw up a schedule, sort through your material, start planning the order in which you will post them ... you will find that a good way to begin and it will certainly keep you out of mischief!

You go well now -

Hi Lestie, Your sense of timing is great! My projects for today are getting my plan written and to organize by topic some of my article ideas with a few talking points. I'm online downloading some free software programs as organizing aids. Your suggestions are well taken. I have enough material on hand to keep me going for a year. So much material is already gathered, my hard drive is running out of space. How far in advance do you plan your articles? My goal is to have a pretty good collection of topics with main talking points on file, at least 50 or more-not too difficult with so many interesting things in the field of health and nutrition. Cheers, Zoe

Yea! We can learn together. There's no spot for a garden where I'm at in the city. 8th floor in the cement jungle. So pots are hot!

Hi BLue Dolphin, Did you get the message I sent you several weeks ago through the newsletter contact page? Just wondering since I have not heard back from you or on my application. How goes with your writing projects? :)
