I heard that the Ribbon ability protects against all status ailments, does anybody know what items i need to customise my armour, or alternativly who do i have to kill?

nu need to custmize an armor with 99 dark matter, which can be gained by defeating dark aeons (2 dark matter for an overkill)and will be randomly dropped by monsters of the area/species conquest and the original in the monster arena.

As I understand it, the Ribbon doesn't exist in the American version (darned Americans always trying to make games as hard as possible).

Then again, the US version of FF7 had a couple new ultimate bosses, whereas FFX has the dark aeons removed. What's up with that??

what extra bosses did you get on ff7?

I heard once (in a forum, no less) that that sand creature and the underwater monster were both added in the American version.

99 dark matter for 1 ribbon, that pretty lame, i just managed 2 fight one of the monster in omega ruins and it dropped armor with break hp + ribbon for tidus. I completed FFX yesterday and finished only with about 9 dark matter. Not worth the hassle in my opinion. Cant wait for FFX-2 now <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

You got a break hp/ribbon armor by a monster in the Omega Ruins, that's impossible for all I know? Only the Dark Aeons may drop an armor with those two attributes, I'm not sure if this is the case with the american version but that sure sounds odd. Omega Weapon in the Omega Ruins may drop an armor with Break HP Limit, no Ribbon though. You're right about the hastle concerning gathering 99x per character, it's not worth the time you have to spend, it's easier to either get them from the monster arena trainer as a price or to collect the armors from the Dark Aeons, just reboot until you get the desired armor.
