I still think using walkthroughs is a form of cheating despite of the above posts that say otherwise. I mean i'd rather spend hours looking to solve the puzzles than using a walkthrough, it's nice to solve the puzzles urself instead of looking up the answers in someone else's "gamereport" , also the order in which things are done in the walkthroughs might be different than the way you would want to play the game. Walkthroughs often spoil the puzzles by supplying too much information. If I'm really stuck at something, i ask a specific question on a forum like this one (but i really try not to when i'm finishing a game for the first time, especially a game like FF, coz i think basically cheating is having an answer to a puzzle upfront without having to do anything for it).

if you played the game with no help at all you would never know about all the aeons like the sisters i always try to finish on my own then i will look at ways to get everything in the game so its not realy cheating <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I believe it depends on the game and on the walkthrough. I dont think that using a walkthrough for ffx is cheating UNLESS you go to secrets section. Because--on the secrets section there are things that you would prob never find on your own, but the rest of the walkthrough is a guideline to let you know how you are doing in the game...one would go through those things anyway!! If it offers you codes and shortcuts then it is cheating, but if it works as an outline of your game it is not cheating. Thats my opinion anyway. :-)

If agree with most guys and especially k.o.s., one should really try to finish the game by yourself the first time without any help unless you're completely stuck. After you've finished it, it's ok to use a wt to find 100% of the game, because i doubt there are that many people that will find everything the first time they play, unless they spend several weeks doing so. Walkthroughs are ususally categorized as faqs, it's more of codes that are considered as cheating, how fun would any FF be with for example god mode? And wt's won't help you through the toughest parts, like king of sin's favourite part, the lightning dodge :]
And Aggie, stop teasing us with those lovely pictures ;[
