Here is a link to a TED Talk by a young man who gave up the chance to become his school's valedictorian to take a class in the arts. He thinks that our educational system has it wrong. It values quantity over quality and building well-rounded students.
Connie, I just watched the video. Excellent. So true. It's the same Philistine mindset that is urging that schools cut back on students' reading of fiction. (the subject of my post this week).
