Hi everyone, this is Faith' s friend Kate. She wanted you to know that she is in the hospital, and everything that happened. She is ok, but her ex showed up. She opened the door thinking it was me. We were supposed to get together for coffee. She was all excited about going back to school. My husband and I got to her house and saw a car with Oregon plates and I knew something wasn't right so I called the police. While I was on the phone, her ex came out of the house, got in her car and screeched off. Faith was on the couch shaking. She said her ex tried to make her leave with her, and when Faith kicked her to try to get away, she attacked her. They heard our car pull up and that's when the ex decided to leave. What a coward. Faith has a badly sprained wrist, a cracked rib and some bad bruises. They would have just treated her and released her but her blood pressure and blood sugar was very low and she is malnourished. So they are keeping her for a couple of days to monitor her and get some nutrition into her. Her girlfriend was arrested about 20 minutes after I first called the police, thank goodness. They said she may be looking at felony charges. But Faith is scared right now. I just don't understand why someone would do this to her. I don't know much about domestic violence, but it seems almost sociopathic that someone could be this cold-hearted. Faith is one tough chick normally (not that it this is ever right, regardless), but right now she's weak from severe anemia and about 20 lbs underweight. Her ex looked like she had at 50-60 lbs on her. Faith didn't have a chance. Who does something like this? Sorry, I hope you don't mind my personal note. I have known Faith since we were 5 and I am so heartbroken and angry for my dear friend right now. Anyway, she should be out of here sometime this weekend and she said she'll update you then. Thanks, Kate

What a horrible experience for Faith. I'm sure everyone here will be relieved to know that she is being cared for and that your arrival prevented anything worse from happening,

It's very hard to understand what goes on in the mind of someone like the ex-girlfriend. I suppose some people just can't give up control of anyone they once had in their power. I'm glad to know that she was arrested and could face serious charges - maybe that will get through to her at last.

Kate, thanks for letting us know what happened. Please tell Faith she has lots of good wishes and prayers coming her way.

Kate, thanks for letting us know. I am so sorry she went through this - but at least the authorities will take this more seriously now.

Please let her know she is in our prayers.

Hi, Kate again. Faith is going to be staying at least one more night. She had blood in her urine, so they ran some tests. Add a bruised kidney to the list. Apparently the ex was wearing steel toed boots. :( She is on pain medication but moving around at all is tough. And Faith didn't tell anyone this until today because she didn't want to worry her dad, but I guess as the ex was leaving the house, she told Faith that no matter what happened, she'd be back for her. :( I found out from Faith's dad that her list of charges include felony stalking (because there was a restraining order in place), kidnapping and aggravated assault, though the "aggravated" part probably won't stick. We're all just hoping she gets some serious time.
