Hi. This is our discussion topic of the week. Do your pets workout with you? For instance, I have a big dog who loves to be my leg bolster when I do yoga.

I have another dog who considers herself clean up. If I get to hot or sweaty she licks my face.

My cats -not so much- for working out.
My husband walks 3 miles everyday. Both dogs walk with him, so they are part of his workout and he is part of their workout.

So jump in and tells us, are your pets passive or active workout companions?

My dog is like a Marine Corps officer--ordering us to walk or to run her every evening. She'll stand and stare at us until we get off our butts!

She's not so great at encouraging the post-run stretch, though, as she typically jumps on top of me or crawls under me (depending on the stretch) while I'm in a pose.

She does love it when I'm in a Downward Dog. She stands under me and licks my face.

That's funny, my dog licks my face in down dog also. They must feel a kinship. Your dog sounds like a lot of fun.

Thanks for your post. It's different with everyone. Not all pets like to workout.

I used to have dogs and they would actually pull me. Not like the out of control dog that sees a rabbit or something. More like they walk w/you, you start to slow down, they look behind you, like - "We're still going...right?"

Right now my back is bothering me. BUT, up until that I was on a ski machine and doing ab workouts.

Ski machine is downstairs, abs just I get on the floor w/a mat.

Cat - which almost acts more like a human than a cat, well, when I did my abs, she'd lay down just like me and watch the screen. She'd fit in by cleaning her belly, lol.

Downstairs, she'd just look at me like, "K...I've got no idea..." smile

My pets (2 cats and 2 dogs) think it's an open invitation when I get my yoga mat out. I can't move because they surround me. I tried giving them their own mat, but quickly discovered that it wasn't the mat they wanted, it was "Mommy" lying on the floor.
