I saw recently a title in big black letters that said,

"Are Atheists/Agnostics Smarter Than Religious Oriented People?"

What do you think?

In some ways, I kind of do...like the having to check w/another person, church or biblical verse to make any kind of move.

But in other ways, some of those people, either way, I don't think they're any happier or hopeful so some of the decisions made if you don't believe in anything, can be poor ones or without a great deal of empathy, remorse? I don't have the right words

Yes, they are smarter because society demands intellectual maturity over religious crutches.

The only way to advance to higher positions in society is education.

At a certain point, you've got to give up religion in order to progress.

I agree in part...

I strongly feel PROGRESSIVELY we're not getting there any faster by believing in nothing and giving up faith altogether.

There's a huge political movement to remove or rather replace certain religious aspects.

On the other hand the religious "crutch" oh that grates my being!!!!

It's like, I could kneel over there in a pew and pray for 3 1/2 weeks or get off me bum and actually walk across the pew, offer a handkerchief and if I've something else, such as a coat, a bed for help around the house, food or just a hug for God sake, that would make more progress.

So, I get frustrated w/the different aspects of people thinking they can just pray and everything goes away. Um...not, sorry, but take human and divine intervention. At least that's where I'm at right now

Measurement of smartens is in quantity of love you poses in your soul. More Love you have smarter you are and here I'm talking about natural love. Natural love is love with which we are born, but there is even grater love than natural one and that is Gods Love. To obtain Gods Love we need only to ask God and have Faith that we can receive it. And this is only way how Gods communicate with us and that is by feelings. I could write much more here but hope that i helped someone with this post.
