Wow Allyson !
That was a Beautiful Story !!
I'm no expert, but smudging basically is taking a bunch of sage wound together by string until is is an inch or so in diameter, then lighting the top of this 'wand' blowing out the flame so the sage just smokes a lot.
Then you carry that around you house, outside, inside in the four corners and say whatever prayers or chants you are comfortable while asking or demanding that the bad spirits leave your home and inviting the good spirits to come and stay.
By bad spirit, I mean like say some family members had a real intense vicious argument inside the house.
Well that leaves real bad energy, and invites foul spirits to hang out.
So, you smudge as part of a ritual to remove them, kind of like the way they burn incense in a Catholic church.

Anyone feel like they were ever actually there? Like in the movie "The Seventh sign?"
Demi Moore was in it.
I have or feel rather a strong connection just with the time passage and what was going on at the time.
Everything now, to me, feels;seems, very loud, like I'm out of an era or something.

I just heard that or something like it in Stigmata - (Patricia Arquette).
Somewhere along the lines of minute 0:22:28.
But they're talking about how what happened way back when was translated and by whom and how accurate it really was.
A priest says, "None of us know what we're doing. Everyone's experiences were different and written through, dreams, memories, etc."
Anything important????? Well it was divided so that the religious sects were divided into 3rds.
1 Went to the Dominicans, 1 went to the Jesuits, the other Franciscans.
The priest adds, "We are all blind men in a cave looking for a candle that was lit over 2000 yrs ago."
And that about says it, especially with the violence going on, the wars and the antagonistics whom keep it going!

The real kicker Karen is that all of these religions started with a personal experience of psychosis:
http: //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychosis
Even Wikipedia at the very end states:
Psychiatric conditions associated with psychotic spectrum symptoms may be possible explanations for revelatory driven experiences and activities such as those of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Saint Paul.
