What is the single best game out there? Any system. I know there are a lot of FF fanatics out there, but try to broaden your horizons to every game on the market. Please, no games that have not come out yet and try to pick just one.

Mine is Shenmue. Has to be one of the most underrated RPG's. That is one of the few games that I sat there and played for hours on end. Of course, FF series fits in that category.

i wouldn't say this is "THE BEST" but Dynasty Warriors 4 is pretty awesome compared to the previous installments of the game. If you like to kill hundreds on a battlefield this game is pretty cool. BTW: I know this is on ps2 but not sure about other consoles. probably on Xbox as well

IKO is really a terrific game and was my favorite until FFX. Kind of an RPG/Puzzler. Really nice graphics and great gameplay.

I also love Zone of the Enders (I played The 2nd Runner). Not an RPG, a first person shooter. Gundam fighters, from Hideo Kojima, the producer of Metal Gear Solid 2 (another great Espionage/RPG).

I agree about DW4. A lot of hours can be invested in that one.

Project Eden is another one. Haven't heard much mention of it, but it's engaging and fun. You play different characters who are comprise a rescue force. They each have different attributes that you have to use to solve problems. Some shooting, but mostly problem solving.
