It's a good idea to review one's priority list every quarter or so, and see if it still resonates! The priority list provides the focus for everything else in life, so it's good to have it reflect what you believe in with your whole heart.

Mine is:

~ help others directly
~ help others help themselves
~ be healthy
~ be serene
~ find the lesson in every day
~ organize my world
~ SMILE

I like these very much. Every "event" I think up, it fits somewhere in here. I like to learn - that falls into the lesson area. I like meditation and yoga - those are in the serene and healthy areas. Organizing is important to me and I'm working on tasks in that area. So these seem still like very good "categories" for me, that my actual tasks fall within.

How about you? How are your priorities?

It is such an important thing to do regularly, since everything else becomes based on these.

This is a very important lesson to learn and I have to remind myself of it constantly as my thoughts often float backwards in time or forwards in time...

It is so awesome that self care and health are two of your priorities and that you are taking specific steps to work on those. Kudos!

Being healthy is so, so important. So many times we can put that on the back burner as we pursue other priorities - but in the end I think if we're not healthy, that nothing else can really work well.

Lisa -

I feel the same way. Health is everything and since I've been unable to be active for the past 5-6 years, I am now in a position to start building up my strength and stamina once again.

In the past exercise was very laborous and walking was out of the question. So this summer I am much better and trying to be more pro-active in getting myself back in shape and also losing weight.

My husband has lost over 60 pounds in the past year and he looks really good. So now it's my turn to catch up with him. But I must still approach it slowly because I am still healing from surgery and it's possible I've lost a little bit of mobility. I am waiting for my doctor to give me the go ahead.
