A friend asked me recently about how to introduce spices to her kids. Her kids are comfortable with cinnamon, but seem to think most other spices as 'hot' or 'spicy' and therefore bad. My kids are quite comfortable with spices, they don't like chilli yet, understandably, but they are quite comfortable with mild curry, cumin, chinese 5 spice and things like that.
What spicy foods do your kids like? What recipies would you be interested in knowing to introduce your kids to more spices? Cyn

There's lots of tasty spices that I think kids enjoy, like nutmeg and cinnamon, ginger and clove, and pepper is on pretty much everything

One time, our youngest son ordered a hot dish, maybe General's Chicken, at our favorite Chinese restaurant. There were little peppers in it, and he decided that he must try one. No amount of talking could dissuade him. He ate it, and flames practically jumped out of his mouth like a dragon! We tried to get him to drink milk, but he decided Coke would work better. Acid intensifies peppers. He finally drank milk, the pain calmed down. He was a stubborn child, and I love that quality about him!

My little one is only 1 year old, but he eats mild curry, sweet spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, etc, and pretty much anything we eat that is not "hot-spicy".
