My husband and I are planning a cruise for our 25th anniversary but haven't decided on where to go yet.

When is your 25th anniversary? Have you gone on cruises before? I think cruises are a great way to celebrate special occasions!

This is a great way to celebrate an anniversary! And congratulations, Joan. Have you considered a Mediterranian crusie? Very romantic and warm!

We went on the Mexican Riviera cruise (Carnival) and we are hoping to making to the Caribbean Islands either this fall or next summer.

Just got back from a 7-day cruise on The Allure of the Seas, owned by Royal Caribbean. Stopped at Jamaica, Haiti, and Mexico.

I loved it. If I could afford it, I would cruise quarterly!

We took a Bahamas cruise for our 25th anniversary last year. It was our first, but definitely not our last. We had been to both ports (Freeport and nassau) in the past, so the cruise itself was the best part. Next time, we'd like to go to different ports, hopefully Bermuda will be our destination one day.

Sorry I didn't come back after our cruise to report on how it was. We went to Belize, Honduras and Cozamel.

I have to say, the food was good and we walked a couple miles on the upper deck jogging track after every meal and of course walked a lot in port because we ate so much!

I'm glad we went but i was really disappointed in the first two ports. They have the cruise ship area basically cut off from the port cities and you have to take special trips to get outside that. We went on a bus tour of Roatan, Honduras and it convinced me I'd never want to live there, that's for sure. In Belize we did a walking tour and so saw all the city, which also was someplace I'd never want to go back to. I know people retire to these areas but don't think I'd want to.

I guess if my husband and I were water and beach people, we might have enjoyed it more. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it, only that it was a great experience to do one time. I don't think I'd spend the money to do it again.

I was disappointed too at how they want to sell you something constantly. Everything was pretty much a hard sell, both on the ship and on shore. We went via Royal Carribean too, which is supposed to be one of the nicer lines.

Thanks for reporting back on your cruise. The Roatan and Belize ports can be great, depending on what you do and your interests. You're right - if you and your husband were beach and watersports people, you probably would have liked those ports more.

I'm a watersports/beach person and have spent a lot of time in Roatan. It's great if you like snorkeling or diving. When we're there, we usually end up going to visit with the kids at one or both of the orphanages there. When school's in session, we usually take school supplies to a school there, too. They really need the help.

Belize can be cool if you're interested in watersports, adventure activities or Mayan culture. The Mayan sites in that area are beautiful. We've also done cave tubing, ziplining and snorkeling as well.

What did you think of Cozumel? I hope you get to try out another cruise. Maybe the Eastern Caribbean ports would be better for you.

All the best - Nancy
