I've been having an odd experience. On several occasions, when I go into my closet, there is a strong smell of a man's body odor. It is not my husband or anyone else I know. And this is the odd part: the smell comes and goes.

When it is there, it is strong and unmistakable. When it is not, there is not a single trace of it. My closet is clean. There are no odors in it usually.

I checked different times of the day, different types of weather (hot, cold, etc.) and the smell does not appear at any particular, regular time.

I have the clairs to varying degrees. I sense a man, but the scent alone can tell one that. It is not a threatening presence at all. Nothing dark, evil or negative. It is just there and for some reason, I cannot see a face or get more info. I suppose I should open dialogue directly to learn more but I hesitate to do this because I am not trying to welcome any spirits into my abode. I performed a cleansing a while back and my home is closed to anyone except family. Plus, I hesitate to open dialogue unless I can *see* the other spirit more clearly.

The thing is that while I do have males in my family who have passed, this scent is not from them. This much I know.

I have a feeling that someone brought him in (I had a lot of home maintenance repairs and upgrades done with workers in and out of the house.) This home was originally owned by family and there never was any hint of paranormal activity during those first 40+ years.

Any insights?

Before I read past the first few lines, was a man (you had the same impression)....now this part is a bit more difficult and I don't want to throw you off or me for that matter, lol. So, I'll just go w/how it came through.

Give me some lee-way (sp) w/descriptions of words. They may not be exact. It came/comes very fast.

Tall man, scent (as it came through to me) was heavier, almost musty or musky w/well an aroma, mixture. So one might consider it tobacco/pipe or even those scents can be confused w/like a cedar or woodzy, burning wood, etc. type thing.But it's in that category of what I got. The heavier thing seems to be the importanat issue.

AFter that older man, long sweater...alomost like a closet that might have either belonged to this person, so possibly a past resident or even relative of a person if they infact have been working, not only on the house but have a bit of the "Clairs" themselves.

Now this one is different...this just came through while I'm typing. A younger gentleman. This person has passed - possibly at his own hand. So right now I'm getting 2 people, both male and neither feel malevolent.

Let me know if you get anything more or if you happen to find a corelating timing events, etc...when the scents come and go.

Wow, Elleise! Thank you so much. Thought I'd give you some interesting feedback as your perceptions are right on in many areas:

You are correct when you sense the male(s) presence in my home. And you see two personages/spirits who do come around.

The older gentleman you pick up is my deceased uncle. He died two years ago at the age of 79. This was his closet. He occasionally wore sweaters but not too often. However, he was meticulous about personal cleanliness and never emitted body odor of any kind, even when working in the yard. I know that while his spirit visits frequently, this particular presence is not him.

The younger gentleman, while not youthful but younger than my uncle, died recently in his 50s. He *did* die by his own hands. He committed suicide by jumping off a building in another county. However, his daughter is my son's girlfriend who stays with us often. I have picked up on his spirit and exchanged brief communications with him in the past. He is devoted to his "little girl" so he follows her around.

I spoke to his daughter about this presence in my closet and she said next time she would like to be here to see if the "smell" is her father's. He had a strong musky scent, she said. The thing is that when I have felt him near and I have heard him say a few words (he is polite and moves aside as I pass by in the hall as though he might block my way!) I haven't detected that strong musky odor at those times. It is a strong perspiration odor. Not cigars or pipes. My husband has smoked those in the past so I know the difference. The body odor is strong but not entirely unpleasant and repulsive.

I cannot recall now if I smell this scent only if she is visiting. I will check. But I do wonder why in the heck he would visit my closet!

Since I posted about this, the smell has not returned as yet. Will keep you updated. But thanks, Elleise, for your great insight!

As I type this, some new thoughts come to mind about why he might stick around me at times. Will explain later.

You're right about this part, too, Elleise. My uncle, although he rarely spoke about it or did anything with it, had a bit of psychic intuition.

Hi Francine! So nice to see you here! I've missed chatting with you.

What a fascinating experience. I'm sure it must have felt terrifying at the time. But as a loving, caring father would, yours came to his beloved daughter and grandson's rescue even while in spirit.

There are reasons why we experience sudden health conditions. I do not want to go into all of them here because too many people will not be able to understand or accept the information.

As I read your words, a clear sense of what was going on came to me but then my conscious mind began to censor my subconscious mind. Like one of the lines from the Ghostbusters movie, "Stop it. You're scaring the straights." LOL.

Suffice it to say that your father's spirit departed his physical body just a tad earlier than expected, and he was able to help relieve the cause of your infant son's suffering.

It's possible the enterence to or being in or "of" the closet is more of a portal or "punch" wormhole (so many different words) from one world into this one.

If an energy already visits a familiar area, it can sometimes make that opening a bit wider for others to enter as well.

a persperation scent...it's possible that could have something to do w/the girlfriend...it could also just be a past owner that was a handyman at heart, maybe sat on the porch, had a few beers and just had that memory of what he knew...a craftsman, t-shirt...you know the no arms type tank almost.

You probably have a "criss-cross" going on. And, thanks for the feedback/affirmations....they always help

Yes, that is the type of scent it is. That is the impression I also have. A handyman or construction worker type of guy. That is why I am thinking he came along with one of the maintenance teams who did some work here a while back.

And frankly, this type of spirit is more likely to peep in on me than my son's girlfriend's father. I notice the smell more when I just get out of the shower and go into the closet to change. sigh. I've got nothing special to look at. Why doesn't he peep in on Angelina Jolie?

Tonight, I detected the scent so I called in my daughter. By the time, she got there, it was gone. So get this: I was outside on the patio with my chihuahua who began to growl and bark at "nothing" in the next chair. Then, the dog looks at the back door but won't go it. I tell my daughter to snap a pic in my closet.

She brings it back with a weird look on her face, saying, "Mom, I know what you're talking about. I smelled it. It's so strong, it hit me in the face."

The pic on my camera phone doesn't show anything obvious. But if you look in a lower corner, you can see a faint outline. I can't tell what it is but my daughter thinks it looks as though there is someone crouching down in the corner. To me, it just looks like a dull light reflecting off of the wall.

I think I will open dialogue.

As for portal opening...oh, no. I will not allow that to happen. I think it's time for another cleansing.

Uh oh. I just thought of something. I *did* say I would open the portal again but I didn't intend to open it here in the house. I was going to set up a place where I could receive spiritual communication but I did not want it to be in my home where I wanted my family to enjoy peace and safety. And I didn't mean the type of portal where any old spirit could enter.

I mean that I would open up my third eye more fully to see once again as I invited only those who had specific helpful messages for their loved ones here. I didn't want to be flooded with spirits who had no reason to communicate with me.

I'd better take care of this before it gets out of hand.
