Hi Lisa, so happy to see a Girl Scouts site here, I didn't even know we had one here at BellaOnline. Is it new?

I am the co-leader for my daughter's Brownie troop. We just completed a service project - we had a bake sale at our school's registration day, and then let the girls vote on what they would like to buy for the school as their service project. The principle came to one of our after school meetings to tell us his ideas, which included playground chalk, library books, arts and crafts materials for recess, jump ropes, or aprons for the art room. In the end the girls opted for library books, and each selected two of their favorite books they wanted bought for the library to have. It was a simple service project that really resonated for the girls, because it is impacting their direct environment.

Looking forward to reading more of your articles here!

Thank you so much. I lead a first year Brownie troop. Congratulations on your service project, I think that was a wonderful idea! You and the girls must be very proud. As far as the Girl Scout site, I am just finishing up the training and hope to graduate next weekend! I am not sure how long the Girl Scout site itself has been on Bellaonline since I am new. I have been looking through the site and probably still don't know all the subjects here. Thank you again for your response and I look forward to writing more articles about Girl Scouts. If you have any questions at any time don't hesitate to ask. smile
