Hi,

I'm learning so much in the social networking world. I've set up Pinterest, Google+. Once I get into it, it's a LOT of fun AND addictive.

I already have searching for pictures on my to-do list.

I'm also working on the best way to interact and "network" on both Pinterest and Google+.

Would love to hear how you all interact with others on these sites!

p.s. For anyone scared and holding off on these sites, I was just like you, but once you dive in, it's great!

I was glad I dived in. I like them both and know that each will serve a purpose given the audiences that they reach.

You can save time interacting on Pinterest by tying it in with your Facebook and Twitter accounts. If they are talking to each other you will reach a broader audience and pick up more Pinterest followers.

I haven't picked up a copy of Kelby Carr's book yet, but she is the owner of Type-A Parent and just came out with the book Pinterest for Dummies. I'm eager to check it out when I catch up on some other things.

Vi,
I borrowed the book Pinterest for Dummies from the library. I actually hate that I have to take it back! The only problem with these books is they become obsolete so quickly. Sometimes it's small things like not having to get an invitation any more. Sometimes, it's larger.

I would imagine any Facebook, book would be obsolete before it even got to the presses... :-)

I love Pinterest because it's a great way for me to organize all sorts of information from things I'll get around to doing eventually (yeah right lol) to sharing things that coincide with my field and websites. When you pin cool things followers naturally seem to come along. The key with Pinterest is to pin very eye catching photos and have a great comment that doesn't sound over-promotional. I have tons of pins and followers now on a Halloween board for example that is linked to and promotes a Halloween website we run. Great fun and of course I follow the other Halloween enthusiasts and oh my if I only had 100 more hours a day the fun things I would be making wink lol.

I love Pinterest and often post there. I get traffic for my knitting blog as well from it.

The recipes are great there!

My daughter is taking a class in social marketing for her Masters in Real Estate and she is teaching me what she learns as well. Very fascinating how people are using these social sites for business and re-inventing themselves.

We had an event at work recently which, of course, involved cake cutting. One of our event planners learned about cutting cakes with dental floss from the Pinterest. It actually worked very well. smile

Wonder if that works with cheese cake? I'm going to try that.
