I seem to be getting more and more DM's through Twitter of people that seem to have caught the "Twitter virus" anyone else noticing?

Yes Dianne, and that is why you should not click on any links that come to you through Twitter's DM's. LOL, I did not realize that there were "hackers" on Twitter until my account got hacked. Learn't my lesson from that DM. And yes, I notice them and just smile and delete.

If someone wants my attention, they can contact me through my Twitter profile which has my Virtual Assisting website information. And that has a contact form - and boy do the spammers abuse that. LOL, I now know the regular spammers - don't waste my time opening up the info I get in my email box.

Hmmmm, I often wonder what are they after?

Anyone know?

I know from when my Yahoo email got hacked into after having it for several years with no issues - the IT guy at the university I was working at told me that a lot of people have their personal bank stuff and other sensitive material stored in their email. That is what the hackers sometimes are after. Some just want to prove they can hack or send out spam to your contacts in the hopes of getting cash out of them.

Not sure how to work around the Twitter hackers - maybe someone may have some tips to share.

Glad to see someone else is noticing as I am new to Twitter.

I feel for it once a couple of months back, but have definitely learned.
For those who do not know what the viruses are, the ones I have seen are:

someone is saying bad things about you (with a link)
they

hey this person is saying offensive things about you (with a link)

rofl they was taping you on facebook (with a link)

As soon as you click on the link, it sends it out to all of your followers.

I avoid links like the plague...even the ones where the sender is so helpful and advertises their link as "virus free." Yeah right. LOL

I don't click on links either, in fact there is only one person who I respond to in Twitter direct messages because we sometimes DM on Twitter quite a bit during the day. Not sure why...LOL...
