A sense of humor is listed as one of the most desired traits in a date/mate. Do you or your husband have a good sense of humor? Do you laugh a lot together?

Do you think that it helps your relationship?

I have only had relationships with men who have a good sense of humor and made me laugh. It is part of the attraction for me, and I think being light-hearted and funny helps to get us through the tough times as well as making the every day things seem more fun. It does help the relationship and I find it to be a very important part of the connection between myself and my partner.

I love laughing with my husband. He is the very best person ever to go to a movie with. He laughs in all of the right places, and being with him just makes any movie better.

Connie, That is so wonderful. My ex and I used to laugh like that, even after our divorce until an incident occured which ruined our friendship. Our friendship is what I had enjoyed the most. Cherish the happy moments with your loved one. They are precious.

To be honest, I don't think I have ever been with a man that made me laugh. I have been married once, not doing that again - but I totally agree with what Dianne says - treasure those moments wink

And to touch on the "friendship" - I now realize that having that as a foundation is so important. Why? Too many times I have been so attracted to some Knight In Shining Armor (my ex husband/lol) only to find out the knight is not someone you actually "like"... Yikes!!!

GREAT subject and love the comments smile

Connie, I share your view. Both of us laughing at all the right places at the movies, just make the movie experience so much better. My husband has silly humour, and makes a lot of off-the-cuff stupid remarks. He always cheers me up with these silly remarks when I have a bad day.

My husband and I make each other laugh, it seems like we have our own language of in jokes and can remind each other with a glance. There is rarely a night that doesn't end with us laughing together in bed, getting ready for sleep.

I do treasure it so much. How comfortable we are with each other, and the joy together.

My husband rarely laughed with me, probably one reason why we are not together any more. However, for years afterward I had a dear male friend who thought I was the funniest person he ever knew, and I thought the same of him. We had SUCH fun together. Once we were leaving an art opening at the local art center, and were giggling about something, when a young woman said to us, "I hope that when my husband and I have been married as long as you have, we can still laugh together like that." I said, "We're NOT married, that's why we can laugh!" and a man passing by commented, "That's the truth!"
Sadly, my dear friend died 10 years ago, but I still cherish the fun we had together.
