the Wicca forum looked a little bare lately so i thought i would post:) I consider myself Wicca/Christian, i believe in the Bible and all things following however i practice some Wicca traditions, like using nature to heal in all sorts of ways, im learning about the rest, the Trinity and more. I am very intrigued by the Wicca religion so i am diving in more and learning as much as possible. I am a single mother of 4, age 23, from Oklahoma. Going to school to get my bachelors in small business management so that i can open up my own shop selling herbs, stones and much more. I am very excited about this journey and look forward to sharing it with ya'll. I have applied to be the Wicca Editor, not sure if i will get it but i remain hopeful so if i do i will be very excited to bring in more visitors and get to know the visitors that already come here!:) either way i will be participating in this forum sharing some things i know and hopefully learning something myself. Knowledge is something i believe to be very important, thats why education is very important to me also there is always something new to learn in this world and i love it. With the way our Earth has been harmed and destroyed its nice to know there are some good still out there, learning, few people trying to turn around the hurt humans have done to her and is still doing and so much more, you walk outside and if you look really hard you will find something beautiful, unless you live in the country like i do i walk outside and can always be amazed by how the clouds look, or a new flower blooming, or a rabbit running across the yard, lol call me silly, thats fine but i do my best to find the beauty in life:) well thats a lil bit about me and how i think. Hope to hear from anyone soon.lol *God bless/Blessed Be* Tish Marie *tish.marie88@yahoo.com*

Hi Trish - welcome to the forum. It has been a bit sparse - I've been trying to get some of the Witches I know to post here, but no luck. So it's nice to see new input.

One of my friends ran a very successful Pagan shop in Portsmouth that I wrote about in my book, so there is definitely a market out there for this service.

Thank you for the reply!:) was hoping someone was coming here now n then. And thank you for the encouragment, i currently get my herbs from a shop about an hour away from me, im not sure what they claim i dont think its Wiccan, could be Pagan they read auras, crystal balls, sell pendelums, herbs, stones and all sorts of stuff, i love it lol but theres nothing like that around my town though so i remain hopeful, this store i go to though has had alot of trouble with rumors, people saying they sell marijuana there and stuff, they were pretty upset last time i was there cause these 2 boys came in looking for pot. but rumors are everywhere so im ready to deal with it, the smalll town i live in is known for rumors lol. thank you again i look forward to chatting with you some more!:)

My pleasure Tish. When my friend Anne ran 'Broomsticks', the Pagan shop that I used to help out at, we occasionally used to get people in asking for pipe screens, rolling papers, and (rarely)drugs outright. Being a major city there was a shop that did that sort of thing so we explained that we didn't but this other one did and that was the last we saw of them.

Rather nicely we got a lot of redirected customers from the other shop who were just looking for herbs, crystals, spells, and advice, without the bad vibes of the druggy crowd.

We used to get spates of this sort of inquiry, usually coinciding with the start of each new University year. Once the word got 'round that Broomsticks sold neither drugs or, more crucially, drug paraphernalia, that sort of thing dropped off to the occasional person every few months.

One thing you might like to consider when you open your shop is to let the local Pagans in the police know. I did have a quick look for the US equivalent of the UK's Police Pagan Association , but it seems the it might be best to contact some of the organisations mentioned on this blog by Kerr Cuhulain, a Pagan and former Canadian Policeman who founded a group to represent Pagans, Wiccans, Druids etc. serving in the Police, Armed Forces, and caring professions. Getting known as one of the 'good guys' early on really helps many of these problems happening in the first place smile

i will be sure to check in on that thank you, i had no idea, i live in a very small town in oklahoma and im sure theres noone here that is Pagan or Wiccan and if they are they hide it, its a town where everyone knows everyone so ill kinda be alone when word gets out but i honestly dont care, im not going to hide who i really am just to make others happy. Its not the 1800's anymore, people should be able to practice whatever they want in theyre own home without being judged by the people of the town. Maybe noone is "hunted" down and burned at the stakes anymore but people can still be vicious, calling names, spreading rumors, the looks people give you. I personally havent went through much but i can imagine, people are just scared of what they dont understand, my roommates husband is actually scared of the pendelums i made lol he threatened to leave cause my roommate used one, shes into this stuff but he wont allow it, ive tried talking to him telling him its not all bad, theres a white magic and a black magic and i would never use anything to harm someone, hes Christian but like him alot of Christians from the south wont bend when it comes to theyre religion, they see it one way and thats the only way everyone else is wrong. I have been raised christian, i believe in the Bible but there are aspects of wicca i believe and practice also so thats why i claim Christian/Wicca, i guess i get the best of both worlds?lol anyway now that he understands it a little better he doesnt get mad, i dont practice in front of him just out of respect but like i told him, i should have the right to do what i want as long as im not hurting anyone, his wife has actually asked me to make sachets for fertility, teas for all kinds of stuff, once i get a few more stones she wants me to clear her chakras but we do talk to him first because i dont want to cause any problems, he wont allow me to do any spells for fertility or allow her to cause his beliefs and alot of them would need consent from both of them anyway so my point is people dont understand and some choose not to but that doesnt mean we need to alter how we live to their liking. sorry about the novel,my messages/replies and even texts are never short lol i just always have alot to say even if it gets all jumbled up coming out, i have 2 roommates and 5 kids in the home but it seems i always find myself having noone to talk to so i let it out via txt/web but anyway i will check on that, its still a couple years down the road and im still learning myself, ive been told before but for some reason it escapes me, what is the differences between "Pagan" and "Wiccan"?

hi Tishmarie wicca is a branch of paganism . All wiccan is pagan, but not all pagans are wiccan. Thats putting it in very simple terms! I suppose its like saying all catholics are christian, but not all christians are catholic.hope that makes sense.
