I will add that I do believe the fault lies with the parents of this child, or the adults who talked like this in front of the girl in order for her to pick up this kind of talk. The girl had no idea what she was even saying.

It is up to the adults to control what conversations their children are exposed to, and if parents are judgemental then unfortunately that is what their children will learn to be as well because they emulate their parents and elders.

You know, I hate to say this but I really got messed up when I was a teen when a child came into my mom's office and called me 'faggy fingers'.

I don't know where the heck that came from ?!

Another thing, of all the children I have every seen and deal with in my 50 years I seen one kid young 4 or 5 that was practically pure freeging evil -- weird -- he was adopted.

I HAVE to know what you said after they told you off! If someone pulled me up on this they'd get a 30-minute non-stop feminist rant about choices. My head would probably EXPLODE! Well done for remaining calm...

Well she shouldn't have been there either since she doesn't have kids. I would have told her that grin

I'm really not good at arguing. I never yell, and if I'm REALLY mad I usually just cry and run off (super mature, right?). So, my simple response to them was just, "whatever," and I stayed away from my niece for the rest of the event. Later; however, on the drive home, I did say something to my mom about it. My sister was in the car too. I told her I think it's ridiculous that I can't tell the truth to the kid when she asks me questions about myself. She tried to continue saying that she was too young to understand, and to my sister's credit (she is actually great at arguing) she backed me up by saying, "That's b*lls**t. She's eight, not stupid. And, what was all that [censored] about her asking when Dee is going to get married? She knows Dee and Carlos are married. That kid is just a brat and was trying to get attention because no one was paying attention to her. If she had told me I was going to die an old maid, I'd of told her the only reason she existed is because her mother doesn't know how to use birth control correctly. Dee didn't say anything inappropriate to her at all."

That was pretty much the end of it. Sometimes, I do love my sister. smile

I love that. Would have been a perfect response.

This is priceless !! smile

It should be framed and mounted on the wall !!!

Now, one of the reasons that I chose not to have children is for spiritual ones.

I required the time to deeply study occult < which simply means " hidden " in this case from the profane > and esoteric teachings that have been skillfully removed from all of the worlds scared teaching to foment political violence and war so a hand-full of people who KNOW that these teachings are for the complete and eternal freedom of each individual alive on the planet can use one set of laws that operate consistently to manipulate masses of people to their own ends.

Enter birth control.

Biology and human nature has not changed much in 12,000 years and before surgery and hygiene if you didn't have kids by the time you were 14 you were dead by 30.

My Mom and I had this conversation why the raging hormones when you don't have the means to support an innocent life ?

yuk.

Then suffering and squalor.

So...

In a roundabout way Doyln I admire you and your sister bucking the tide of a very very sick society -- it is going to take people like you in each little realm of influence to get this sick society off of their ' accepted norms '

Oh Yeah... what have our accepted norms brought us ?

War, poverty, violence, debauchery, lasciviousness for millenia !!

Kids like to hurt others

Unless that kid understands that people have a right to be free adults and kids above and beyond any ' accepted norms ' then our future is bleak indeed !

Bravo to you and your sister Dolyn !

Bravo !

That's Pretty !! smile !!!

Yours in a more not so mucked up future,

I have zero interest in kids, which is kind of why i stay away from this forum. Ironically, most of the threads are about kids. wink
Wow.....unbelievable, Dolyn. This kind of thing should not even be coming out of a kid's mouth. If I was the parent of that girl I would be disciplining her for being rude!!! Debbie (formerly Cassie67)
"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree", that's for sure...
