Jerry Lee Lewis was discovered by Sam Phillips at Sun Records in Memphis. Phillips was the producer who also discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Charlie Rich. Phillips was one of the most influential men in music history. Yet, when he died in 2003, he was hardly mentioned. Strange! Jerry Lee Lewis burst onto the scene with Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On, Great Balls Of Fire, and Breathless, three songs that summed up the sex act. There was nothing left to do but have kids. So, when Jerry Lee married his 13-year-old cousin Myra, the press had a field day. They actually stayed married 13 years. Rock n roll died with Buddy Holly, and Jerry Lee Lewis went country along with other early rockers. Tragedy dogged him, and two of his kids died. One drowned, and another died in a wreck. "The Killer" lived up to his reputation, showing up at the gates of Graceland with a gun and going through several marriages. He recently married again. Number 7. He married his caregiver. At 76, you marry your caregiver.
