Hitlerland - American Eyewitnesses to the Nazi Rise to Power, is an insight into 'interwar' life in Germany, from the view point of American journalists, diplomats and socialites who lived there. Many were initially impressed when the Nazis took over.
Victory in Europe Day is May 8th, and former Newsweek staffer Andrew Nagorski has put together a fascinating and well balanced book, illustrated by seldom seen photographs of the time, showing a period of German history that is rarely covered as it was seen through the eyes of observers.
